My whole thing is getting good sac outlets so I can abuse my abilities again. Mana rocks DO get blown up or bounced for whatever reason, but they don't just get swept away like creatures do. Cards like Blood Artist and Cutthroat will also make it harder for people to want to board wipe, which is one reason I avoided using the Myr's that can tap for mana. ] is one I had thought, but paying too much life can leave me dead in the water too. ] is one I am heavily considering, for the sheer idea that that it is a similar effect to ]. I think part of my issue is having a sac engine that is "good" thats not just "saccing for the sake of saccing" ((such as Nantuko Husk as an example). Sure its not a "free" sac, but even saccing one or two creatures and getting to draw a card and deal two to the face is fine. Most of my sac outlets are Goblin related, so I'm considering swapping them for things like ], which gives me something for saccing Black or Red creatures, in the form of both damage AND draw (something that the deck seems to stumble on). Goblins is sort of a small play in whats happening. Untapping him enough times to ping down X/3s is truly impressive and annoying, but you can also just ping people to death and then overrun with Goblins. I've been pleasently surprised with how often this simple Goblin ruins my day, especially with Blood Artist in play. I'll also suggest Goblin Sharpshooter for you. It's definitely the strongest deck he owns. I think that going wide, abusing sac/drain effects, and still threatening shenanigans with infinites is what makes Grenzo so powerful. As are the Goblin lords for the subtheme I mentioned before. It seems very nice being able to do either one.įrom your maybeboard, the pingers like Blood Artist and Cutthroat are really strong. But I notice that when we play, he either gets scary through a wide goblin army or through the loop shenanigans that you mentioned. Sometimes there's not much you can do besides flip spamming off the bottom and hope for the best. The first thing I notice is that you're focused mainly on Grenzo synergy where he also focuses on a Goblin sub-theme. I'll preface this by saying that I don't own or play Grenzo, but rather my brother does. But my other thought is, with other sac outlets, cards like ] now become more of a card draw spell where you can sac it, throw it on the bottom, get a trigger from it instead of a one time a turn use from ] or a spell like ], while still being low CMC that if I don't got a land it can dig me a card or two closer to what I need.Īm I just not running enough creatures? Do I need to be more toolbox like and just take out more of the tutors that I have for more creatures and sac outlets (do note that "Maybeboard" has some cards I am on the fence about or are considering and yes, ] is already there)? But if thats the case what do I take out so I still have things like board wipes and cards that I need to help move the deck, but also enough interaction with myself to abuse more? I don't just want to run sac outlets like ], JUST to have a sac outlet. The issue lies in my board state, where I have either a large board state, but cannot reuse anything on my board (No Stylus, no "good" sac outlets atm for example), so I'm in this weird limbo of either just "Ok I don't know whats down there, lets just take a Gamble and see if I get something". Grenzo's whole thing, is either getting cards into the graveyard from hand, stacking the bottom of the deck (via scry, ] ect) and then cheating mana costs. I have Grenzo playing around the 3 power section so I can get some of the other cards right now (with Sheoldred being the highest one at 6 ((primarily hoping to cheat it out with Clone Shell or Grenzo just happens to get bigger))) but the problem is having a way to reuse some of my abilities. One thing I'm having "problems" with, is what I cann "interacting with myself". Deck list in the next line for reference: So I know I've seen at least another post on here about ], but I am unsure if its more of a player "error", possibly deck construction issue or maybe I'm just not seeing something.
